February's VLC Food Drive

Early sign ups made February's Food Drive Project an incredible success! We posted it 4 months early and began recieving volunteer sign up's the beginning of November! Once the 1st store was staffed we set up a 2nd location, which was filled by mid-December then on to a 3rd!! 3 Food Drives for 3 Food Pantries (Hartland, Oconomowoc & Pewaukee). 33 volunteers who each shared 2 hours of time...children to seniors...individuals, couples, families and groups...66 volunteer hours in total! A special thanks to a creative VLC member who organized a Food Drive at her church (Lord of Life) to coincide with VLC's Food Drive this month and then brought all of their donations to our drive! Vans FULL of food were shared with all 3 of the pantries along with almost $800.00 in cash donations for them and the Lake Area Free Clinic! Project Coordinators for this project said the VLC volunteers were AMAZING!! Thank you so much for making this Drive such a success!

Pewaukee Pantry: "What a wonderful Food Drive your volunteers headed for us today. It resulted in 2 van loads of much needed food. Please pass our thanks on to those who worked at Pick and Save in Pewaukee - we are sincerely grateful for their work." Blessings.

Hartland Pantry: "Thank you so much for the huge van full of food! We are so grateful for the VLC collection. We have an increase of families each week coming and humbly asking for help.

Oconomowoc Pantry: VLC 's Food Drives for the Oconomowoc Food Pantry are greatly appreciated by the Pantry and those we serve.
